Summer opposites

I've been enjoying the prompts in the Picture Summer project this month. Unfortunately it seems like the themes recently have been the opposite of whatever is available to me for the day--"splashy" on a day with no water or "solitude" on a day with no time to myself.

On a walk downtown

I've been grateful to have some great free time this week with my husband while the kids are staying at "Camp Grandma." After dinner downtown, we took a (hot and humid) walk around.

I've been loving taking pictures with my iPhone. There are a couple of cool apps that I use all the time: Hipstamatic and ShakeItPhoto (for these). My phone is always with me, and these apps have a great look and feel. And it's just been so much fun!

Picturing summer

More photos from the prompts in the Big Picture Scrapbooking Picture Summer photo project.

I spent the holiday weekend at my parents'. It always presents a number of opportunities for capturing family memories, revisiting souvenirs of my childhood and enjoying the beautiful country setting--like wildflowers and eating meals on the deck.

What summer means to me

...tomatoes! Our garden is full of tomatoes, basil, peppers and more--all in order to make sauce to enjoy the rest of the year. There is nothing like eating a bowl of pasta and sauce in the middle of winter. It's like a taste a summer preserved.
